GUIDE LINES TO PUBLISH SUPPLIER DATA

With the release of the new version Kcad has started a project for the involvement of suppliers in the publication and management of their catalogs in the format used by Kcad. The project plans to convert an initial set of data for each supplier to be used as an example, and then to provide the tools to allow each supplier to insert and edit all the data in their catalog. The management of prices and discounts, which may vary for individual retailers, will be separated from the description and technical data that characterize each article. The tools will include a free copy of Kcad for internal use and a dedicated application to manage the users and to customize the discount factors for each of them. Moreover, a function to export all the catalog data in an open XML format will allow to establish a connection with other programs that use the same data.
